This collection includes items from the Rare Book Collection of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Library, in Washington, DC. The Rare Book Collection is comprised of chiefly Holocaust-era publications, acquired as part of the Museum's mission to Rescue the Evidence of the Holocaust, ensure its preservation for posterity, and make it accessible to scholars and visitors. The Collection includes works documenting the lives of individuals and communities; examples of Nazi propaganda; reports on official and communal responses, such as rescue and relief efforts; sacred and popular works produced for refugee communities; and satirical, literary, and memorial publications. Due to possible copyright restrictions in effect at the time of digitization, the digital copies of this subset of the Rare Book Collection are only accessible internally at the USHMM.
