A Missouri mother, whose preteen daughter committed suicide hours after the woman fatally shot their injured family dog, has been arrested.

Annie Small, 39, of Gorin, Mo., was charged with the felony of abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death, reported Hannibal, Mo., TV station KHQA.

Clark County Prosecuting Attorney April Wilson filed the charge last week after an investigation into the Jan. 1 death of Small’s 12-year-old daughter.
