EVERYONE MUST TIGHTEN THEIR BELTS is a whimsical video in which a late-night television interviewer (played by Anthony Moore) attempts to get an unusually wordy guest (a labor relations expert of sorts, played by Deborah Auer) to explain the relationship between unemployment and inflation. The language is repetitive to the point of becoming almost abstract in its rhythms -- setting up an interplay between the ideas and the aural pleasures of the text.

Metamorphosis is a tribute to American dance icon Loie Fuller. The dancer's immense skirt provides a flexible screen that modulates projected videoart images by the Laziza Videodance and Lumia Project. Then the mood shifts to a freer dance as the dress is shed. In the end we are taken back to the beginning with a star image showing directly on the torso of the dancer. This Videodance features dancer Judy Marriott (Fowler).

“Graduate Students Respond: Artists and Museums” Short papers by graduate students, to answer the question, What do museums of contemporary art stand for today? A pessimistic view might suggest that they are a brand identity rather than a recognizable set of cultural values, a crucial part of the leisure and entertainment industry that also serves as a status-enhancing outlet for private collectors. At the same time, the global museum boom since 1990 has seen an unimaginable diversification...

This is an experimental performance created in my cousin Jenowade's kitchen. The yellow wall and minimal layout of furniture provided a simple domestic scene. In the video my character (Jodie) plays the role of a woman who does nothing but sleeps on the kitchen table while the man played by my cousin, Jenowade goes about his daily routine of hanging a painting on the wall. This dynamic relationship is quite comical and the surreal. This experiment informed a future performance work performed at...

The participants sit on the floor, and around the studio, as footage is shot, and the technicians struggle to broadcast both the event, and portions of the artists'...

Targitt, a Super-8 film, was conceived as a casual appropriation when I first saw my friend Sumner Crane's comic book collection. I picked Targitt, and I asked Sumner to "read" and flip the pages while I filmed over his shoulder. Later we improvised music (Sumner on guitar, me on drums) and sound effects for the film. It was shown only once, at the Mudd Club.
