It seems like the algorithm for what displays as an upload's list image has changed. For instance, I used to be able to upload a pdf and an image, and the image would show on the collection list. Now it shows the first page of the pdf.

Sometimes it seems that an image will appear with a group of uploaded mp3s, other times not.

It just seems a little unpredictable. I'd like to be able to present the things in my collection nicely. Is there any guidance on this?

Sorry, I hope my defintions are clear enough.

"collection list" is for example: https://archive.org/details/@altviewstv-fanclub
and "single file" is a single item, like this: https://archive.org/details/WarrenDossVsCIACOMPLAINT

Thanks

if you can post URLs of items behaving as you say i can investigate. the system no longer makes animated gifs from pdfs.

here's what you suggested. please send an example of each:

1. "I used to be able to upload a pdf and an image, and the image would show on the collection list. Now it shows the first page of the pdf."

2. "Sometimes it seems that an image will appear with a group of uploaded mp3s, other times not."

Hi, thanks for your response.

For example, I added an image here along with the PDF and it used to show the image on the listing page, but it no longer does: https://archive.org/details/CastroSpeechJFK2

For the mp3, I think I was confused on how that works. It doesn't seem to be an issue.

I saw the difference between

and

but I realize the difference is probably the number of mp3s.

Thanks Jeff
