This guy may pull his uploads due to problems with the new format. But some of these are exceptional historic items.

Thanks brother. Just got around to really looking at this. I own/owned a lot of those albums. Reflections of my misspent youth.

Too things need two be said here.

1. Tony Angle needs our thanks but I know of noway on the Internet Archive to do that.
2. I made a spelling error in the title of this posting. It should read 'end of mucic.'

Thanks for clarifying. I had thought you meant the 'end of mucus'.

Thanks. Fantastic stuff. The first (only?) two "American Blues" albums. This 60s Texas band had the famous guitar player, Rocky Hill (many rank him with Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc.), his brother Dusty Hill (later of ZZ Top), and Frank Beard (later of ZZ Top).

Amazing collection here. I've been listening to this since you mentioned it, Nomed. I also pleaded with Jeff to keep this collection up and fix the issues Tony Angel has noted, (https://archive.org/post/1128781/format-change). This is a fantastic collection that needs to be archived for its historical significance.

Electric Prunes and Chocolate Watchband
good stuff
haven't heard the Zodiac LP -early moog if I remember
haven't heard since 72 the year I collected many 60s LP
in Philly cut-out record stores
long gone LPs ...but still have E.P. and C.W. on CD
rare stuff -only recognized about a dozen covers
spent many hours flipping through LPs

Wow, it took me awhile to wander thru all that music.
Of course my warped brain had to focus on music to strip by.
Anytime I get to full of myself I just remember
that like President Carter, "I have lusted in my heart"

This reminded me that when i was a schoolboy
I got into my Grandfather's record collection
Which um was dry to say the least
But somehow in the midst of all those show tunes
A copy of Van Morrison in the band THEM.

Whoa, here it comes
Here comes the night
Here comes the night
Whoa whoa whoa yeah
I could see right out my window
Walkin' down the street, my girl
With another guy
His arm around her
Like it used to be with me
Whoa, it makes me want to die
Yeah yeah yeah
Well, here it comes
Here comes the night
Here comes the night
Whoa whoa whoa whoa yeah
There they go
It's funny how they look so good together
Wonder what is wrong with me
Why can't I, accept the fact she's chosen him
And simply let them be
Whoa whoa whoa
Well, here it comes
Here comes the night
Here comes the night
Whoa whoa whoa yeah
She's with him he's turning down the lights
And now he's holding her
The way I used to do
I could see, her closing her eyes
And tellin' him lies
Exactly like she told me, too
Yeah yeah yeah
Well, here it comes
Here comes the night
The long, the long and lonely night
Night, night, night, night, night, night
Whoa, here comes the night

Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: yes, a serious question to those who remember

just to reiterate, some real gems in this collection, but i've really only explored the 'surf' tagged LPs, because well i love that sound

and so, i've listened to about 75% of the 101 'surf' tagged LPs, and definitely some great and new-to-me surf sounds, although there are a number of classic era surf bands absent from the archive, but maybe they are still-to-be-shared, one would hope

and mixed in with those 101 surf tagged LPs are quite a few i guess what you would call Hot Rod LPs, and also a bunch of vocal surf a la The Beach Boys

i can sorta understand the vocal surf beach boys type music being at least semi-popular, i mean the Beach Boys were popular, even if i can't understand why, but here's my question, did people actually listen to the Hot Rod music? i mean, lol, basically musical advertisements for the auto industry ... sorry, it's shit and painful to listen to, those musicians must be cowering in embarrassment today

having said that, i will acknowledge that in a handful of those Hot Rod music LPs, there are some instrumental nuggets which are great, true surf
