Ah, welcome to another addition of the Super Secret Apple Rumors Podcast, with your host Stevie J. Jobsie didn't have a ton of new gear to announce -- just the Mac Pro -- but it is, in fact, WWDC. Did we ever get a load of information about Leopard, though, the new version of OS X Apple's making us wait until next year to get. Next freaking year! Well, whatever, there's sure to be a lot more to come with 10.5, but in the mean time take it away, Steve.

But the real juicy gossip was the teaser he gave us about the...

Jobs had some lots of iPods man, plenty of those damned iPods -- and now they're back in aluminum, too, not just in that white and black plastic stuff. Oh, and now iTunes plays movies, incorporated in that CoverFlow software, and will better sync to your other PCs -- or stream media to your iTV, due in 2007. Yes, it was indeed a full day for Stevie J., but in the end it turned out alright for Apple fans the world over. Unless you were waiting for an iPhone or video iPod, in which case you're...

It's been a long and busy week, leaving a newly nicotine-free Terrence a tad more irritable than usual. Ben's been busy too, but that just means long hours of playing Mario Kart 8. Both of these factors seem to cancel each other out and the result is a pleasant stroll through the world of Xbox One, this time sporting a lower price tag and one less peripheral. Is it Microsoft's way to boost sales, or are there more complex plans afoot? It depends on who you listen too, but the Redmond camp...

We may have lost the QRIO and the AIBO last week, but when one gadget company shuts a door, another opens a window: Nintendo announced the DS Lite, a smaller, um, lighter version of the DS. Microsoft also announced CableCARD 2.0 support for Vista (for a price, anyway), and one of their own, Ford Davidson, took a few to sit down with us and discuss Windows Mobile in the marketplace. And, of course, our usual dose of next-gen optical discussions continues, with a pinch of listener voicemail and a...

We’ve got lots of gaming news to discuss this week between Nintendo and Microsoft naming their prices on the Game Boy Micro and Xbox 360, and Sony’s absentee PSP 2.0 update, but there’s plenty of other material to work with too. Take Sony’s Walkman Bean, for instance, which leaves us a bit perplexed, while Canon’s camera inundation and Sony Ericsson’s new P-series phone leave us reeling. Just another week in the life of the Engadget crew.

Lot of music going on in the Podcast this week, between Apple's ongoing tiff with The Postal Service, Franz Ferdinand's limited edition Network Walkman, and the Rio Cubic swan song. But this week's podcast wasn't without its casualties, too: Tiger Telematics filed for bankruptcy in its home territory, the UK, and Konica Minolta decided they're closing up shop for digital imaging, passing their tech and know-how to Sony, less 3,700 employees. Still, at least things are looking up a bit in the...

Robots are so advanced these days that they even know how to make themselves prevalent during otherwise-humdrum news weeks to get themselves extra-featured on important and widely-listened-to technology audio programs. Sony may have had their fun on Monday, but Tuesday turned out to be one of the news-packed days of the gaming year thus far. Nintendo decided to one-up Sony by adding additional speaker support for the Wiimote, demo actual Wii gameplay, and generally pump up and hype out their next console like nobody's business. Shortly thereafter Microsoft set us off with some footage of up and coming 360 titles, as well as some new periphs, including the vaguely maligned and long awaited Xbox 360 HD DVD...

The days move on, and the gadgets continue to impress. Yesterday we had a chance to stop by iriver's suite, shoot some video, and get really really impressed by their latest PMP offerings. On the other side of Paradise Road, Sandisk rolled out a few PMPs of their own, including one featuring song sharing over WiFi. The Blu-Ray Association says they've already won the format war... despite what rationality might tell one about an eight-month-old gadget in the middle of a bloody market share...
