Sen Dan Biss introduces a plan to require small businesses to establish an IRA type retirement account for their workers. Sen Biss says the vast majority of those who retire, have not saved enough to support the lifestyle they had when they were working. This bill SB-2400, would have an IRA set up for new workers, unless they opt out. The contributions to the IRA would be 3% of gross salary, which would build a retirement income over a standard 45 year working time span.
