This book details the fundamental incompatibility of democracy with Islam. It goes on to challenge the view that it is acceptable for Muslims to engage in democracy due to necessity, arguing that returning to the sunnah is a better alternative. To this end, it explores a number of oft overlooked dimensions of participation in democratic systems which should be taken into account when weighing the harms and benefits of democratic participation.
