The staff of the 1959 Marquette feels that your last nine months can best be pic¬
tured by a single day. In that day, we have tried to crowd all the joys and sadnesses
you have ever experienced in a school day
— from the depression experienced at the
8:20 bell
to the rapture expressed
in the first chord of Prom's grand march.
stroll around the same campus ....
meet the same friends and teachers ....
cheer the same touchdowns and baskets ....

SPORTS
If you can dream — and not make dreams your master;
If you can think — and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same; . . .
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty second's worth of distance run.
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it.
And — which is more — you'll be a Man, my son!

ACTIVITIES
Man, being essentially active, must find in activity
his joy, as well as his beauty and glory;
and labor, like everything else that is good
is its own reward.

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime.
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints in the sands of time.
